Ethanol futures closed higher than corn in the front three months in very limited trade for the day. Corn futures have yet to recover from the USDA report estimation of new-crop ending stocks of 1.949 billion bushels, versus trade expectations of 1.795 billion bushels. Old-crop corn futures were down 7 1/4 cents to $6.43 1/2 per bushel, and new-crop corn futures were down nearly 2 1/4 cents at $5.35 1/4.
