Ethanol futures closed better than corn in all months after corn futures dropped as they fell on pressure from the USDA Supply and Demand and Production report scheduled for release on Wednesday. Old-crop corn futures dropped 16 cents to $6.50 per bushel and new-crop corn futures closed down 12 cents. Front-month July ethanol futures were down 2 3/4 cents per gallon to $2.48 per gallon. August ethanol futures closed down 2 cents per gallon to $2.39 and September ethanol closed down 2 cents to $2.25 per gallon.
