Ethanol futures posted additional strong gains following the renewed buyer support which quickly jumped back into the corn futures market Thursday. July corn futures gained 15 cents per bushel, which helped to draw additional support to the ethanol market. Nearby ethanol futures increased 2 to 3 cents per gallon in nearby contract, although deferred futures were much less aggressive. June contracts closed at $2.61 per gallon, after rallying 2.1 cents per gallon. There is some uncertainty through the market heading into Friday as the USDA crop report could adjust price levels before the weekend.
