Ethanol futures posted moderate to sharp losses Monday following active pressure in the corn market. Nearby corn futures contracts posted losses of 23 to 24 cents per bushel. This led ethanol contracts to settle 3 to 5 cents per gallon lower. June futures fell 3.8 cents per gallon to $2.521 a gallon. The inability for the higher energy markets to support ethanol prices could be suggesting the corn market may continue to drive additional price shifts over the near future.
