Ethanol futures closed mixed in a narrow trading range Friday following late-week weakness in the corn market while RBOB gasoline futures continue to rally higher. Front-month May ethanol futures were unable to shake the support of the RBOB gasoline market and closed 0.6 cents per gallon higher, at $2.459 a gallon. But all other contracts followed the weakness in corn prices, and posted losses ranging from 0.6 to 1.3 cent per gallon lower. The warmer weather is creating the expectations that additional progress will be made in corn planting. This weighed on the market Friday.
