Ethanol futures posted moderate to sharp losses following pressure in nearly all commodity markets and active losses in financial markets. Front-month May ethanol futures posted a 5.1-cent-per-gallon loss, closing at $2.371 a gallon. Other nearby contracts posted losses of 2 to 5 cents per gallon as the pressure in both corn and energy markets were taken into account.

RBOB gasoline futures posted losses ranging from 4 to 5 cents per gallon with sharp losses seen in the crude oil futures and triple-digit losses in the Dow Jones index. May futures closed at $2.7576 a gallon, after a 4.42-cent-per-gallon loss. This ...
