Ethanol futures posted fractional gains Friday as trader interest in the market on the first day of March was extremely light. There may be additional activity developing early next week, which could spark additional price moves through the complex. March ethanol futures closed at $2.406 per gallon, after a 0.1-cent-per-gallon gain. Other nearby contracts were also limited to narrow gains due to uncertainty as to how outside markets will continue to react to federal spending cuts which are starting to be implanted.
