Ethanol futures posted moderate gains Tuesday despite lack of support in both the corn market and front month RBOB gasoline futures. March ethanol futures closed 1.5 cents per gallon higher, at $2.368 a gallon. This renewed support in the market comes following moderate support in the grain market on Friday and expected additional supply draw downs in ethanol levels as the spring approaches. Traders are focusing on trying to narrow the ethanol to RBOB gasoline price spread, but the moves in the corn market are still likely going to be a major indicator of the overall direction of ethanol futures.
