Ethanol futures posted strong gains Friday as corn futures closed higher for the first time in 11 trading sessions. The ability to move the corn futures higher had more of an impact in the ethanol market than the actual gain seen in nearby contracts. March corn futures did manage to support 4-cent gains at the closing bell. Nearby ethanol contracts closed 2.4 cents per gallon higher, with March futures closing at $2.353 a gallon.
