DTN Weekly Distillers Grains Update

DAVENPORT, Neb. (DTN) -- A public comment period is now open for a proposed rule by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that will affect any facilities which manufacture or process animal feed, including ethanol plants.

The proposed rule is required by Section 103 of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The FSMA was signed into law Jan. 4, 2011, to protect human and animal health by ensuring the safety of the feed supply. Now, FDA is proposing additional rules it considers vital to FSMA.
