DTN Weekly Distillers Grains Update

Spot prices of dried distillers grains have been falling in recent weeks and will continue their downward motion as harvest continues.

The DTN weekly spot prices average fell a sizeable $16 in the previous three weeks, from $224 per ton to $208, reaching the lowest level the average has hit since late March 2012.

Cheaper new-crop corn will soon be hitting ethanol plants, according to Steve Knier, merchandiser for U.S. Commodities in Minneapolis.
