Brazil Crop Outlook - 2

ANGATUBA, Brazil (DTN) -- Brazil has had bumper corn crops in the last two years, but the outlook for 2013-14 is far from optimistic.

Dry weather chastised summer corn across top producing regions in southern and southeastern Brazil, while torrential rain over the last six weeks in Mato Grosso has severely impaired potential of second-crop corn.

"It is a difficult year for farmers planting corn across most of Brazil this year," said Paulo Molinari, corn analyst at Safras e Mercado, a local farm consultancy.
