Ukraine Grain Exports Up

MOSCOW (Dow Jones) -- Ukraine's grain harvest this year is bigger than last year, with exports up by more than 27%, the agriculture ministry said Dec. 24.

The ministry said Ukraine exported 17.58 million metric tons of grain between the beginning of the current marketing year July 1 and Dec. 23, 27.7% more than in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year.

Wheat exports to date totaled 6.64 mmt, including 5.34 mmt of milling wheat. Barley exports totaled 2.02 mmt and corn exports 8.8 mmt.
