Canada Farmers Get Enlist

DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Canadian farmers will get the first on-farm seed-to-harvest look at the Enlist Weed Control System. The 2,4-D-based trait technology is being developed by Dow AgroSciences, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company.

The company announced a limited commercial introduction of Enlist corn in Eastern Canada for the 2014 growing season. Growers planting the new genetically engineered corn will have to follow strict stewardship guidelines.

Regulatory authorities in Canada approved Enlist corn and Enlist soybeans for cultivation in 2012, and Enlist Duo herbicide in 2013. Enlist Duo, a proprietary blend of glyphosate and 2,4-D choline, is ...
