Uralkali Open to Belarus Pact

LONDON (Dow Jones) -- OAO Uralkali said Monday it would consider any proposition to create a new sales partnership with Belarus or another producer, after the Russian potash producer abruptly ended its marketing venture with Belarus in July, pledging at the time to produce greater volumes regardless of price.

"We are open to anything which we believe is legal and could be beneficial in distribution and costs," Sir Robert John Margetts, deputy chairman of Uralkali, said in an interview.
