AMMONIA

World ammonia market prices moved lower through January, trading at $600 mton fob Yuzhnyy, FSU, early and ending the month around $570. The Eastern Hemisphere market is significantly weaker, as demand from India for DAP production is diminished and industrial chemical demand is down as well. On the supply side, gas supply to Egyptian ammonia plants was cut off intermittently and gas supplies to Trinidad ammonia plants also were diminished early in the month, but have since returned to more or less normal volume levels. Reductions in DAP output from most exporters have also reduced pressure on ammonia supplies. ...
