DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Big soybeans are the latest buzz. Bolstered by late rains, seed super sized and that's causing potential planting concerns for 2013.

Earlier this fall, DTN reported that the size of soybean seed produced in 2012 was trending larger. That early estimate was accurate and then some.

Reports that some soybean seed is running in the range of 2,000 to 2,500 seeds per pound, or lower, are coming in from the field. Seed grown in the central region of the country appears to be affected most.
