AMMONIA

Prices in the world ammonia market were essentially flat through May, crossing at $510 to $512 per metric ton early and finishing the month at $515. Market participants are awaiting further news on the timing of the start-up of the new Sorfert ammonia plant in Algeria. Indian import demand for ammonia for the production of DAP was weak in April/early May due to local plant closures, and several DAP plants are still down.
