World ammonia prices moved slightly higher through December as Yuzhnyy tons traded in the $385 to $425 mton range early and were at $416 to $430 late. The lack of new export tonnage expected to be available from the new Sorfert plant in Algeria forced traders to cover from other sources, which kept prices firm. The problems with the plant were political and by month end, had been resolved.
