Explosion Cause Still Unknown

OMAHA (DTN) -- A month after a massive explosion of the West Fertilizer Company killed 14 people, injured 200 and damaged a 37-block area in West, Texas, investigators announced Thursday the cause has been ruled as "undetermined."

Officials with the Texas State Fire Marshal's office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) told a late-afternoon press conference that while the investigation into the fire's cause is closed, a separate criminal investigation remains open and will be conducted by several law enforcement agencies.
