AMMONIA

World ammonia prices moved lower through January as turnarounds at U.S. DAP/MAP plants diminished demand. Yuzhnyy prices moved from $416 to $430 early in the month to $416 late. (All prices in this column are wholesale.) Late in the month, the market was surprised by the export of three ammonia cargoes from the U.S. and Trinidad to OCP, Morocco. Also late in the month, Mosaic purchased Tampa ammonia at $415 cfr (cost and freight -- the delivery of goods to the named port of destination at the seller's expense; buyer is responsible for the cargo insurance and other costs ...
