Russian Grain Exports Higher

MOSCOW (Dow Jones) -- Russia's grain exports for the first four months of this marketing year totaled 11.177 million metric tons, a rise of 8.5% on the year, the federal statistics service reported Tuesday.

In the current marketing year, which runs from July 2013 to June 2014, the agriculture ministry expects Russia's grain exports to rise to 18-20 million tons.

Russia's grain export in the 2012-13 marketing year fell to 15.69 million tons from 27.2 million tons in the previous marketing year.
