VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (DTN) -- Corn and soybean fields in northwest Ohio are two to three weeks behind average in development, scouts in one vehicle on the eastern leg of the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour reported Monday morning.

Scouts reported seeing corn that was still shedding pollen and beans that were still blooming. Corn yields for five stops in Ohio averaged 187.8 bpa from a range of 136 bpa to 215. Corn was in the milk stage, with none in the dent stage.
