Less Water, Same Profits

OAKLEY, Kan. (DTN) -- In a small town in western Kansas, Bill Golden stood up in front of more than 100 water-strapped farmers and told them they might do just fine with less water. To his surprise, they didn't boo him out of the room.

"Nobody has stood up and said, 'Golden, you're just full of crap,'" the Kansas State agricultural economist marveled.
