Audit Clears Beef Checkoff

OMAHA (DTN) --- Groups responsible for spending beef checkoff dollars are complying with the law.

That's the main takeaway from a new audit by the USDA Office of Inspector General.

After reviewing more than $20.5 million from invoices and following up on three complaints made while the OIG was auditing beef checkoff dollars, the inspectors concluded the Cattlemen's Beef Board and its primary contractor, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, were meeting their fiduciary responsibilities with producer funds.
