Conservation Grants Awarded

OMAHA (DTN) -- USDA officials on Tuesday announced a new round of 33 Conservation Innovation Grants totaling $13.3 million that are meant to support research and promote environmental practices.

USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service operates the Conservation Innovation Grant program, which generally includes a partnership or project involving multiple entities.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack touted the new round of grant approvals in a press call Tuesday afternoon. Vilsack said USDA has now spent about $200 million for Conservation Innovation Grant projects, which also have leveraged another $200 million in private cost-share investment.
