USDA to Rush Disaster Aid

PHOENIX (DTN) -- Losses due to drought conditions and excessive winter conditions will more timely assistance than usual according to USDA and the White House.

Ranchers in the Dakotas and other areas who experienced losses due to winter weather will get disaster assistance faster because, on a trip to California Friday, President Barack Obama will announce that he has directed USDA to implement the livestock disaster programs in the farm bill within 60 days, rather than the usual six to eight months.
