WYDEN LESS ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT TRADE DEALS THAN WAS BAUCUS

Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., who is widely expected to soon become chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, reportedly is not overly enthusiastic about free trade agreements. This is important because the Finance Committee has jurisdiction over the nation's trade and tax policies and two major trade agreement negotiations currently are underway -- agreements that must first pass though the committee.
