House Farm Bill Prospects Improve

WASHINGTON (DTN) -- Prospects for the farm bill passing the U.S. House of Representatives improved Wednesday as House Speaker John Boehner said he would vote for the bill shortly after House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas and ranking member Collin Peterson both said they expect the bill to come to the floor next week.

Boehner, R-Ohio, has said he has problems with the dairy program, but that without a new bill "we get no changes in the farm program, no changes in the nutrition program."
