Vilsack Says Japan Needs to Further Open its Market to U.S. Agricultural Products

Japan's continuing reluctance to open its market enough to U.S. agricultural imports could result in Trans Pacific Partnership trade negotiations proceeding without Japan, says Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Without greater market access for U.S. agricultural goods, "it will be very difficult for this agreement — and frankly it should be difficult for this agreement — to get the approval of Congress," Vilsack said.
