Feinstein Looking for Senate Support for Drought Assistance Proposal

One of the selling points that supporters of the 2014 farm bill used to gain votes for the measure was that reforms to crop insurance contained in the legislation greatly strengthened the economic safety net for farmers and ranchers. The substantially larger federal subsidies to crop insurance would make the ad hoc assistance of past years unnecessary, they argued.
