Wyden Prepares to Take Over Chairmanship of Senate Finance

The Senate Foreign Affairs Committee this week endorsed Sen,. Max Baucus, D-Mont., to become the next ambassador to China and sent the nomination on to the Senate floor where it is expected to be approved without much opposition.

Baucus will resign his seat upon confirmation, which could come as early as today. Upon his departure, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is expected to name Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., to succeed Baucus ...
