Peterson Sees a GOP Plan to Drop Farm Programs

The ranking Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota, says he believes that House Republican leaders' decision to pass separate nutrition and farm program bills was done in an attempt to get the government out of the farm subsidy business. Peterson cites as the reason for his speculation the dislike of farm programs that has been voiced in the past by House GOP leaders.
