Boehner's Plan to Avoid Government Shutdown

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, says the chamber will consider a short-term funding resolution that maintains sequestration cuts when lawmakers return from recess in September. Speaking last week on a conference call with Republican members, Boehner said the continuing resolution would avert a government shutdown after Sept. 30, the end of the current fiscal year.

There is no word on how much time Boehner intends the short-term resolution to cover, but some Capitol Hill sources ...
