France Finds Another Reason to Oppose U.S.-EU Trade Agreement

French President Francois Hollande says allegations that the United States has used electronic surveillance against European embassies could threaten the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Talks regarding the possible bilateral free trade agreement are scheduled to get underway next Monday in Northern Ireland. However, Hollande said there could be no negotiations without guarantees that U.S. spying would stop "immediately."
