LUCAS APPEARS UNCONCERNED ABOUT THREAT OF PRESIDENTIAL VETO OF FARM BILL

The White House has threatened a veto of the farm bill that will be brought to the House floor today, but the legislation's manager, Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., appears unruffled by the threat.

The Statement of Administration Policy on the farm bill says the White House is opposed because "The bill would reduce access to food assistance for struggling families and their children, does not contain sufficient commodity ...
