EPA: RINs Up 2.4% from June

STREATOR, Ill. (DTN) -- The Environmental Protection Agency reported today 1.147 billion D6 Renewable Identification Numbers were generated in July, up 2.4% from June's 1.123 billion.

D6 RINs generated in 2013 through July total 7.518 billion.

Domestic production and imports generating D6 RINs, which is primarily corn-based ethanol, was 1.135 billion gallons in July, up from 1.114 billion in June.

D6 RINs are equal to one gallon of renewable fuel produced or imported.
