Spot ethanol prices in New York and Chicago declined in early trade Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported U.S. ethanol stocks rose 700,000 bbl or 4.2% to a 2-1/2-month high of 17.2 million gallons during the week-ended Apr. 25. Supplies along the East Coast climbed to a near eight-month high of 5.9 million bbl.

Prompt ethanol at Argo hub near Chicago was talked at a $2.33 to $2.35 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 3.0 cents. An early May ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was discussed at a $2.43 to $2.45 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 3.5 cents ...
