STREATOR, Ill. (DTN) -- Ethanol industry advocates believe a study performed for the American Petroleum Institute on gasoline containing 15% ethanol that showed the fuel leads to engine failure is flawed and misleading.

They also note E15 has been sold at 40 locations across the United States with no complaints from consumers, ethanol advocates claim. Plus, the National Renewable Energy Laboratories issued a report the week of Oct. 10 contradicting the API study.
