STREATOR, Ill. (DTN) -- The Obama administration's proposal to cut the 2014 renewable fuels mandate would increase emissions of greenhouse gases next year, according to a white paper from the Biotechnology Industry Organization, BIO said in a news release on Wednesday, March 26.

"The Obama administration's proposal for the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard could reverse progress on one of the central goals of the law -- reducing climate-changing emissions from the United States transportation sector," said Brent Erickson, executive vice president of BIO's industrial and environmental section and lead author of the special report.
