NEW YORK (DTN) -- Ethanol supplies and production eased last week in the United States, with total inventories drawn down 100,000 barrels (bbl), or 0.5%, to 16.9 million bbl, nudging off a six-month high posted during the prior week, the Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday, Jan. 2.

EIA showed ethanol production at U.S. plants declined 5,000 barrels per day (bpd), or 0.6%, to 900,000 bpd during the week-ended Jan. 24, while up 130,000 bpd, or 16.8%, from a year ago. Four-week average production at 898,000 bpd was up 13.2% from a year earlier.
