NEW YORK (DTN) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday came under increasing pressure from various industry groups regarding its proposed 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard mandated blending targets.

In response to concerns about the RFS, EPA, the agency that administers the RFS as part of the Clean Air Act, proposed Nov. 15 a reduction in the overall blending volume mandated for this year from 18.22 billion gallons called for in the statute to 15.21 billion gallons. The RFS increases each year through 2022 when it reaches 36 billion gallons.
