When looking at what Class III futures have done over the past three days, one would think there has been a significant change in fundamentals. However, such was not the case. Floor traders were just as confused as everyone else as to the strength in futures contracts. Of course, substantial increases in futures generally triggers short-covering which fuels the rally. Along with this, the significant discount futures held is now being eliminated quickly, bringing futures closer in line with cash.
