Follow-through short-covering ensued when the market opened for night trading Monday. This created significant volatility pushing April as much as 43 cents higher before excitement abated and futures settled down. Since trading began last night, the April future contract ranged 66 cents from high to low; May ranged 74 cents; and June ranged 53 cents. Many times, heightened volatility results when a market is nearing a change in trend.
