March Class I price was announced at $23.64, up $1.62 from February and another record price. Reports have indicated milk production increasing at a slower pace than last year and slower than usual. However, USDA's January "Milk Production" report does not indicate this as the case. January milk production increased 1% over last year in the top 23 states. Milk production continues to outpace last year as it has been most of the past year. The bottom line is that demand has been good.
