Milk production in the Central region is steady to slightly higher, but hindered from the usual production increase this time of year. Other than the impact of weather, corn silage is lacking significantly in energy value. Farmers are adjusting rations as best as they can to compensate for this deficiency. Fluid milk sales slowed in some areas resulting in greater volumes available to the spot market. However, this extra milk continues to maintain a premium to class.
