The all-milk price reached $21.80, up 20 cents from November and $1 higher than a year ago. Milk prices will close the year significantly better than earlier anticipated. It will be the second highest Class III milk price in history. The futures market indicates a higher January price than December, but we cannot yet be confident of this. January futures have declined 39 cents since Christmas from a steady block cheese price and despite an increasing barrel price.
