It seems as if there is little milk available and no cheese. The strength in cheese prices and Class III futures contracts is incredible for this time of year. December milk futures will be affected very little from now until the December Federal Order prices are announced. January will be the most volatile as it will attempt to remain in close relationship with underlying cash prices. Global Dairy Trade auction prices were higher in all categories except whole milk powder, which was down 1.5% at $4,958 mt, or $2.25 per pound. Skim milk powder was up 1.7% to $4,868 ...
