Milk supply is still termed as tight with manufacturers looking for supply to meet production demand. Production is increasing seasonally, but slower than anticipated in most instances. However, some reports indicate a recent jump in milk receipts at the plant level. Some cheese plants are biting the bullet and paying the extra premiums required for additional milk supply for the purpose of producing cheese to fill last minute holiday orders.
