Dairylea Cooperative Inc.'s Board of Directors voted to merge with Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. Dairylea's members will be asked to vote on the merger in their annual meeting in February. The idea is to position themselves to better compete in and supply a growing world marketplace. This merger will combine the number one and number six top cooperatives in the country in member milk volume. The combination would result in the one company handling about 45.8 billion pounds of milk in a year.
